Another reason I got out of the real estate sales business, I don't
think that I was worth what the sellers paid me! I sold a house
this one time, it was on the market for 4 months. The buyers were
asking a very fair $123,500. They had 3 kids and 2 dogs - it was a
good, wholesome American family. I sold the house shortly
thereafter, for an even $120,000.
Now, the unfair part I was talking about - for that $120,000, the
sellers had built up $15,000 in equity for the house. They paid me
an even $8,000 in commissions. That's
over 50% of the equity they'd built up over YEARS!!! Was it
right for me to get it all in a few months? I
didn't even get them the price they wanted!!! Is that fair?
If they'd hired me a couple of years before, they'd have ended up paying
me out of their own pockets!! Don't you think that's worse than
